Moonlight trickles in Spilling a few drops. Night still sleeps Curled up about the room. His soft fur Envelopes me I wrap myself In his paws And huddle up under his chin My purrs wilst The stars wink At me. I smile back And wave. Clouds meander Over to the moon, And Night shifts And stretches. He wiggles back into Bed as the clouds Wander away. He starts to purr again That Soporific slide. It puts me to sleep. My mind drifts away, Away from the trouble Aways from the pride And away from the people. This is sleep, And I do it in the very paws of Night.
